0.18, we can see a mid shot, which later at 0.26 changes into a long shot. These shots are essential to show, body language of the performer, the costumes, and the settings where the video is taking place. To make people aware of the surroundings and get them hooked.
Tracking or dolly shots are used to follow the performer smoothly as they move through a scene. This technique creates a sense of rhythm and fluidity, often mirroring the pace of the music. Which we can see 1.40 to 2 in the video.
HIGH/LONG ANGLE
Low-angle shots are commonly used to present the artist as powerful, iconic, or glamorous. By positioning the camera below the performer, the viewer is encouraged to look up at them, reinforcing their star image. Essentially, this entire video forces us to look up to her and keep our focus on her.
High-angle shots may show an entire location, a dance sequence, or an audience during a performance. These shots can also reduce the dominance of a character or convey vulnerability, depending on how they are used. 0.54, we can see an establishing shot converting into a high-angle one within mere seconds.
ESTABLISHING SHOTS
Establishing shots introduce the setting and give context for the narrative or performance. These shots are important for situating the audience in a location and can also be used symbolically. Establishing shots also help create atmosphere and mood before closer camerawork takes over. In this video,o we saw a garden, and the entire video will be situated there.
Editing
Simple cuts are the most common editing technique in music videos, as they allow shots to move from one to another seamlessly. This somewhat keeps people connected, keeps everything in flow, rather than creating distractions by using big jump cuts or transitions.
Sound
Mise-en-sence
For the mise-en-scène in my music video, I want to use stylish and elegant locations that reflect the lounge-pop aesthetic of Salvatore. My aim is to create a dreamy, cinematic atmosphere. Costume is important for constructing the star image, so I plan to use outfits that feel glamorous and timeless, such as vintage dresses and classic accessories. I want to use lighting to create a very specific mood that matches the dreamy, surreal tone of Salvatore. Soft, diffused lighting will help make the visuals feel glamorous and nostalgic, almost like old Hollywood cinema.
