Preliminaries

Preliminary 1: (Video)

The concept behind this preliminary is being so close to love yet never getting it. The constant cycle of wanting something with someone, yet never getting it.The uncertainty that comes with loving someone, putting yourself out there. Maybe you share a few moments, but they are not here to stay; they will flee. The affection is not constant, it is fleeting, just to pass by, never to hold on to. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable over and over again, stuck in a cycle just to hold on to those moments for a little longer. Not accepting the reality of not being the chosen one to be loved by the beloved.

Preliminary 2: ( Poster )

In Salvatore, certain colours are highlighted, which are given careful consideration. While making the posters.

RUBY

Ruby often symbolizes passion, desire, and emotional intensity. In Lana Del Rey’s world, a ruby tone suggests something rich and slightly dangerous, a love that feels luxurious but carries a dark edge. It represents the heat of emotion, the allure of romance, and the intoxicating pull of something beautiful yet potentially destructive.

BLUE

Blue conveys calmness, sadness, and emotional distance. It embodies the melancholic undercurrent present in many of Lana’s songs, a quiet, reflective space where longing and nostalgia take over. Blue imagery often points to emotional coolness, loneliness, or the bittersweet ache of remembering something beautiful that can’t be reclaimed.

Green

Green can suggest the illusion of renewal, something that looks alive and lush on the surface but may hide instability beneath it. In romantic symbolism, it can point to naivety and emotional vulnerability, the feeling of being new to love or temptation, yet not fully aware of its consequences.

NEON

Neon represents artificial glamour, modern excess, and the bright, fleeting glow of nightlife. Unlike natural light, neon is manufactured and temporary, symbolising illusions, fantasy, and the glossy surface of a world that may not be as perfect as it appears. In Lana’s world, neon often marks the line between dreamy escapism and the emptiness beneath the glow.
