Pre Production

 

Now it was time to see all the work coming together. The research we have conducted over the session. There were unlimited discussions about the song we are using. What are we representing? The mood of the genre actually forms some sense of consciousness.

THE SCREEN PLAY

Now, landing on a single idea was chaotic, as the song's lyrics were more about setting a theme rather than giving us much to work with. It started as a woman longing for love, driven by her alcohol addiction. Trying to find something real in this shallow world, or maybe just to feel the idea of love, the fantasised version of it fed down our throats by the media.

Then we landed on a tragic love story between a couple. The moment of love they shared, or was that all an illusion, a beautifully curated lie? Our project will definitely keep the viewers hooked after endless conversations, discussions, and maybe even arguments. We decided on a story as a group of four.

She is our producer and script writer; she helped us organise our ideas into a screenplay, helping us portray the narrative of our storyline with continuity. She managed the entire lifecycle of content creation and our music video, from initial concept to final delivery. She also helped us with the behind-the-scenes of our shoot, which were used for content creation purposes later.

BUDGETING

Now that the plan was in line, we were looking forward to execution, and for that, we needed to know our expenses. We needed to look at the cost of the house we were shooting in, the props, and the wardrobe. Transportation, equipmentnt and tcrew'sews meal. Here is what we came up with.

LOCATION RECEE

A location recce is a detailed inspection or survey of a specific site before an event, shoot, construction project, or operation. It involves visiting the location to gather information that helps in planning logistics, safety, and operational requirements, and here is ours.

RISK ASSESSMENT

A risk assessment is a systematic process of identifying potential hazards and evaluating the risks associated with them. It helps in minimising or controlling risks to ensure safety and prevent accidents. This is how we planned to minimise the risk to the crew members.

Story Board

The storyboard shows the protagonist entering the set. Her identity is not revealed instantly. She seems lost between herself and her life. She has moments of self-actualisation. Looking at her reflection in the mirror makes her realise the dual life that she has been living in this marriage. She was expecting, and her husband was given a doctor's letter. Which stated that the protagonist had a miscarriage. In the next scene, she is burning her ultrasound. Which follows by a huge argument between her and her husband.which leads to him shooting the protagonist.

Her character is complicated; she is messy. She seems lost within herself, drowning in her alcohol addiction and seeing her life fall apart in mere moments. She is the one; the story is about. She made some reckless decisions while being married, and now she is living a dual life. The husband who once loved her turned on her most unexpectedly. She deserved consequences for what she did. He should have held her accountable, but turns out his outcomes were extreme, and she never deserved them. No one does.

He is playing the husband, and they seem to have a perfect marriage, but in reality, nothing is perfect. They were expecting when she had a miscarriage, and he was heartbroken. Turns out that was only his reality; the miscarriage was not their truth. He kept loving her until he found out the truth. When he did, he was outraged, and he crossed lines which are not allowed to be crossed in any circumstance.

M.Bilal our cinematographer, is making an appearance as an antagonist.

Apparently, he just appears for mere seconds, but that appearance changes everything. It connects the storyline, making everything make sense in the blink of an eye. His character is very crucial, although he is playing the role of the manager in. He plays an important role in the state of the main protagonist's married life

Following the Cambridge protocol, I made sure to send out an email to the record label on behalf of our entire team. Making sure to pass on the message that our video won't be used for commercial purposes, and we will be just using it for examination purposes only. We also made sure to give all the credits where it is due in our video .
